A Kirschner Wireor restorative torque wrench is a torque wrench used to precisely apply a specific torque to a fastener bolt for fixation of an abutment, dentures or prosthetics on a dental implant.It is used to fix the short fracture or avulsion fracture with little stress, and is often used in the fixation of temporary fracture block in orthopedic surgery. Due to its wide application, the maximum diameter of Kirschner wire is gradually increased to 4 mm. With the application of external fixation support, external fixation locking nail is used to fix pelvic fracture, calcaneal fracture and other emergency large fractures.

Instruction for use:

1. According to your method, a Kirschner wire can be used to fix the fracture in the anatomical position
2. Drill holes perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the phalanx at the proximal and distal ends of the fracture 0.5-1 cm from the fracture line, and pass through the bilateral bone cortex. The two Kirschner pins with a diameter of 1.5mm should be in a plane parallel to the longitudinal axis of the phalanx
3. Finally, take out the two Kirschner pins, insert the injection needle into the needle path as a catheter, and then tighten and pressurize 1 mm steel wire, which is equivalent to tension band steel wire. This kind of fixation is very reliable and can be exercised early after operation to facilitate functional recovery. This method can also be used for phalangeal fusion.
